Per the instructions, the brackets seem to be intended for exposed surface mounting, but they worked great as hidden granite countertop supports. I was able to reinforce the cabinetry interior with 2×6 material without interference with any drawers and screw these from the inside. I had to shim them a little to make them perfectly level as the welds can interfere with true flush mounting, but otherwise worked out great.
Used these as hidden bracket supports for a granite top overhang. Mounted the 6 inch screw hole side to the inside of the base cabinet. You have to knotch out a space so they sit flush with the top of the cabinet. The base cabinets don’t have much thickness of wood to screw into so a 3/4 inch #10 metal screw worked perfectly. The 8 inch side extends out to support the 12 inch granite overhang. The screws are not doing anything but holding the bracket in position long enough to set the granite. The weight of the granite then holds the brackets in place. Saved a couple hundred dollars from what the granite installer charges.
We used brackets to support a 12″¡Á24″ countertop shelf . Looks great and is very strong.
You can barely see the brace in the picture. I planned to install 3 of them, but the countertop guy said one would be sturdy enough. Yes it needed a shim to be perfectly level. I found that to be an odd complaint – not completely square – in the previous comments. Clearly the person writing such things has not done much renovation. Nothing is square. Get over it.
I wish it came in other colors, but I just ended up using metal paint to paint it the color I wanted. These things are HEAVY. They are very study and I have no doubt they will support my counter overhang. They DID NOT come with screws to attach them to my cabinets, you will have to provide your own. The holes are drilled out to be used with countersunk screws or bolts, it¡®s a nice detail.Overall, I¡®m very happy with the quality of these brackets.
These were to hold up a bar/counter. Very sturdy; met expectations. Surprised that the screws were not included – had to go to the hardware store. I would recommend and buy again.
